Pharmaceutical recruiting means finding, engaging and screening specialized candidates for pharmaceutical and biotech teams. For us, it also means understanding the science behind each role, so conversations with candidates and hiring managers stay specific.
What We Focus On
Our pharmaceutical recruiting focuses on four therapeutic areas: Immunology & Inflammation (including Fibrosis), Immuno-Oncology, Cell Therapy (CAR-T/TCR) and Rare Disease. Every search follows a custom, integrated plan covering pipelining, sourcing, screening and interviewing. We can also augment an existing recruitment process or support a full talent acquisition department build-out.
Experience shapes the work. Our co-founders have built talent acquisition functions from the ground up, so we understand both the search and the system behind it.
We work with big pharma and with startups. For big pharma, we plug into established teams. In contrast, for startups and emerging biotech, we help build R&D and medical affairs teams, and the talent acquisition function behind them.

Joshua Thornton
Co-Founder
Joshua Thornton is a co-founder of Biomind Talent, where he leads firm strategy and AI implementation across the recruiting lifecycle, from AI-enabled sourcing and automated candidate engagement to ATS and talent-pipeline workflows. His talent acquisition experience spans both in-house work as a Senior TA Consultant and team-based work building multiple startup TA functions from the ground up, including leading ATS implementations matched to each organization’s hiring needs. Since founding Biomind Talent in 2017, he has drawn on a background in digital marketing and SEO strategy and a track record of helping small and mid-size business owners achieve measurable growth. Joshua is based in Bend, Oregon.

Currently leading Talent Acquisition at Spyre Therapeutics
Meme Thornton is a co-founder of Biomind Talent and a biotech and pharmaceutical talent acquisition leader with years of hands-on recruitment and sourcing experience. She currently serves in-house as Senior Director of Talent Acquisition at Spyre Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing next-generation antibody therapies for immune-mediated diseases, where she is building the team behind its growing immunology pipeline. Biomind Talent built out Spyre’s talent acquisition department, including applicant tracking system (ATS) implementation and recruiting structure, while leveraging new recruiting technologies. Meme is an AIRS Certified Diversity Recruiter based in Bend, Oregon. As a co-founder, she helps guide the firm’s direction; she does not currently recruit for Biomind Talent clients.
